ID2 & ID5 Form

ID2 Form Verification for Companies and Organisations

If a company, partnership, or corporate body is involved in a property transaction, HM Land Registry requires identity verification using Form ID2. When the verification is carried out remotely via video call, the accompanying Form ID5 must also be completed. At ID1 Form Verification Online, we offer a fully compliant remote service that verifies authorised representatives quickly and securely—entirely online.

What Is Form ID2?

Form ID2 is used when the party involved is not an individual, but rather a:

  • Limited company (UK or overseas)
  • LLP or partnership
  • Charity or trust
  • Public body or organisation

It verifies the identity of the person acting on behalf of that organisation, such as a director, company secretary, trustee, or legal representative

When Is Form ID5 Required?

If the ID2 verification is carried out remotely via video call, the person verifying the identity must also complete Form ID5 to confirm the process was conducted digitally. This ensures the verification meets HM Land Registry’s remote ID check standards.

Who Can Use This Service?

Our ID2 remote verification service is ideal for:

  • Directors signing on behalf of a company
  • Executors or trustees representing an estate or trust
  • Law firms or estate agents needing third-party ID checks
  • Organisations based overseas with UK land interests
  • Any non-individual entity required to submit ID2 as part of an HM Land Registry application

We’ll also require basic documentation showing the company or organisation’s name, registration number (if applicable), and official correspondence address.

What You’ll Need

The representative being verified will need to provide:

  • Passport required as valid photo ID
  • Proof of address (dated within the last 3 months)
  • Proof of authority to act (e.g. Companies House extract, letter of authorisation, deed of trust, etc.)
  • A device with a working camera for the video call
  • Internet connection for remote verification

We’ll also require basic documentation showing the company or organisation’s name, registration number (if applicable), and official correspondence address.
